Long Beach School District remembers Thomas Hanes
LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- The Long Beach School District is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher and coach. Earlier this week, we reported on a deadly crash involving a military bus that killed two men from D’Iberville.
School officials confirm one of the victims was Thomas Hanes the P.E. teacher at Quarles Elementary and the school’s cross‑country coach.
The district says Hanes brought energy, humor, and constant encouragement to his students and colleagues. They describe the loss as immeasurable, but say his legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to shape the school community.
