“Long Beach Live” is Fun for the Whole Family

Long Beach city officials kept the party going with “Long Beach Live”, a fun event for the whole family to enjoy.
“Long Beach Live” kicks off every third Thursday of the month at the Harper McCaughan Town Green. It’s a place for people of all ages to come hear all different types of live music.
The event was started four years ago by Fred Walker and he is excited to see how it has benefited the community.
The event has proven a success for other small towns and it has also brought good business to the restaurants in downtown Long Beach.
“It’s a free event designed for families to get out on a Thursday night, an off-night in Long Beach, to explore our town to see what it has to offer,” said Donald Frazer.
“It’s been good,” said Fred Walker, “Especially for the restaurants, you know because it’s a free concert but people can come out and spend a little bit of money and have a nice meal.”
The next concert and last for the season will be held in October.
