Long Beach community pep rally

Bearcat pride was running high this evening at the Long Beach community pep rally.

The event held at the Long Beach Town Green was the first of its kind and was organized in order to get the community ready for the football team’s first game taking place tomorrow.

The Long Beach High School cheerleading, dance, and football team were all in attendance as well as the student council and the mayor’s office youth council.

Families and community members filled the stands as the students performed and got the crowd ready for the new school year. Cheerleader Lainey Hillman said, “It’s a great opportunity to let everyone know what we do and how we do things and to get everyone excited for the whole school year and to make sure everyone is involved and comes out to our games and supports our team.”

Cheerleader Madison Riley “It just brings out the excitement throughout the community and with the football team, it’s getting us ready for the season and it is getting the community ready as a whole.”

The Bearcats kick off their 2018 campaign with tomorrow’s home jamboree against Biloxi at 6 p.m.
