Long Beach Citizens of the Year nominations now open

Do you know an outstanding citizen in Long Beach who deserves special recognition?

If so, you can nominate him or her to be named this year’s Long Beach Citizen of the Year.

Currently, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations for this special honor. They are looking for a resident or business owner in Long Beach who, through volunteerism and commitment to the community, has improved the quality of life in the city.

Last year, Frankie Castiglia, a lifelong resident, won the title in 2018.

The recipient will be honored at Breakfast with the Mayor on October 2nd along with the police, firefighter, and utility workers of the year. Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Director Gabrielle Rose said, “I think this is a really great way to showcase people in the community who have done so much for Long Beach. These people who spend their time volunteering might not get that recognition. We’ve had a lot of people who are so humble and I think it is just a great way to showcase them to the community.”

They are taking nominations until September 13th at MScoastchamber.com.
