Locals took part in ‘Walking on Water’ bridge walk to fight hunger on the Coast

Community members braved the cold weather and laced up their shoes for a good cause this weekend.

The Coast Young Professionals hosted their 13th annual ‘Walking on Water’ event Saturday morning. ‘Walking on Water’ is a coast-wide philanthropic effort for CYP that benefits Feeding the Gulf Coast and helps combat food insecurity on the Coast.

Attendees brought canned goods to donate to the event and celebrated another successful donation season with a nice walk or jog across the Biloxi Bay Bridge.

Lindsay Mitchell with CYP says each donation goes a long way here on the Coast. “If you just think about how that impact reaches across the Gulf Coast, it’s truly tremendous and we’re just so fortunate to be able to partner with such a wonderful organization in Feeding the Gulf Coast.”

You can also text ‘WOW13’ to 71777 to make a donation to Feeding the Gulf Coast at any time.
