Local record stores prepare for Record Store Day

Record stores are gearing up for the biggest day of the year for them.

Record Store Day is Saturday. Participating record stores will have limited edition vinyl from varying artists. Some of these vinyl are as limited as 300 copies, which is why record lovers swarm to the stores on this special day.

Maynard’s Music in Ocean Springs has been participating in Record Store Day for three years. It can be a little stressful, but worth it in the end. Matthew Comstock with Maynard’s Music said, “So, it’s a little bit nerve-wracking the day before, but we really enjoy it. We really enjoy the people, we enjoy the music, and we enjoy Record Store Day and how much it recognizes indie stores and how hard we work.”

Records sell out fast so make sure you get to your local record store early.
