Local police departments participating in Thanksgiving Feed the Needy 2022

Some people may be counting down the days to fill up multiple plates on Thanksgiving, while others may be happy to just receive one.

Six police departments on the Gulf Coast are teaming up to help the less fortunate on Thanksgiving. Each station is in charge of a different task when it comes to organization, cooking, finances, etc.

This program has been helping those in need for 33 years, feeding about 1,200 people for the holiday.

Monetary donations for food and volunteers to help deliver are needed.

If you or someone you know is interested in receiving a plate, please call your local police station to add a name to the list before November 15th.

Biloxi Police Captain Thomas Goldsworthy said, “A lot of people don’t realize you have a lot of senior citizens and disabled people that don’t have the ability to cook for themselves. you have a lot of shut-ins that don’t have family that could provide for them. So, this is a way for them to still celebrate the holidays, get a great meal and get to interact with people that they don’t normally get to see every day.”

To donate or volunteer to help make this a happy holiday, contact Biloxi or D’Iberville Police Department.
