Local organizations hosting ‘Get out the Vote’ Blitz
The Extend a Hand, Help a Friend Foundation and Mississippi Rising Coalition are coming together to make sure everyone in South Mississippi understands how crucial the upcoming election will be.
Therefore, the two organizations are hosting a ‘Get out the Vote Blitz’ from now until Monday. The blitz will consist of registering people to vote and understanding what’s all on the ballot this year.
Founder of Extend a Hand, Help a Friend Foundation Jeffrey Hulum III tells News 25 about the importance of letting everyone know their vote counts. “All these different things on the ballot up and down with tax collecting. It is just very important that everybody do their part in this election. This is more for the people then it is for the state or the country as a whole. It’s about bringing people together as a whole and the betterment of all people this election.”
The blitz will consist of four different communities and last until Monday. These communities include Gaston Point, North Gulfport, on the corner of Dedeaux Road and Three Rivers Road, and on 19th and 20th Street.
