Local Organization is Making Garments for Still Born Babies

A church in Ocean Springs wants volunteers for a ministry designed to help parents struggling with miscarriages, still-born babies, or premature births.

Threads of Love is a sewing ministry at Center Pointe Church on Highway 57. The ministry crafts garments for miscarried and stillborn babies to be distributed to local hospitals. On Saturday, October 11th at 2 p.m., Center Pointe Church will host a fundraiser and volunteer drive for the ministry. They’re looking for at least 20 volunteers. Sewing experience is not required.

Marcia McCall, ministry organizer, says, “Doing this is important because we fill a need that no one else is filling in the lives of these parents. This is their lowest time in their lives. Often, people don’t recognize they had a baby. People don’t talk about it, they don’t ask about it in our society. It’s like something you don’t talk about.”

For more information about the ministry, contact McCall at (228) 826-3661.
