Local Ministry Provides Transit for Elderly

Finding transportation is something most of us likely take for granted, but can be a difficult task for the elderly.
One local ministry is beginning a service aimed at helping the elderly get from one place to another a little more easily. It’s called CCM Transit, a bus service made possible by Christ Cathedral Ministries out of Gulfport.
CCM is kicking off the start of this service with a free ride for seniors from local nursing homes to go shopping Thursday and Friday. Helping Hands Owner Darryl Hall said, “Our primary focus once again is healthcare and wellness of the seniors. So if they have doctor’s appointments, dialysis treatments, these types of things and even we’re looking at they may have family members in the local area that they may not have transportation to get to, so we will transport them to their family members in the local six county area.”
While the focus of this service is geared towards the senior community, it is not limited to the elderly. For more information on this service call 228-236-8411.
