Local distillery making, bottling whiskey in the Kiln

From 1920 through 1933, prohibition created the bootlegging business with illegal whiskey or moonshine being made and transported to meet America’s appetite for alcohol.

Legend has it that illegal stills cranked out moonshine in the Kiln in northern Hancock County.

Now, 100 years later, whiskey is being made, bottled and sold legally at Crittenden Distillery in the Kiln.

WXXV News 25’s Dave Elliot spoke with Matt Crittenden about blending the past with the present.
