Local community offered hot meals for power crews

It’s been one week since Hurricane Zeta hit out Gulf Coast and power crews have been working hard to turn our lights back on.

So, the local community stepped up once again today to provide linemen and contractors with a hot meal.

Thanks to various individuals and organizations, lineman received jambalaya, green beans, a roll, and cake for dessert, along with cold drinks at the West Harrison ball fields in Pass Christian.

Organizer Brandon Necaise says they knew they needed to give back. “We see these guys working their butts off. We want to give back and we hear about the meals they’re getting daily and we want to step up and do something. I put out a post on Facebook and everyone in my community just came out with supplies, food. I mean there’s so many businesses and just community individuals that have come out to help.”

Not only did many local linemen come grab a plate, but volunteers also delivered the meals to various locations to serve the linemen who couldn’t come to them.
