Local church gives back to community with meals

During this global health crisis, many people have been stepping up to the plate to make sure their neighbors and communities are taken care of.

This week one local church is making sure everyone gets a good meal. Tomorrow, Triumph Church of Gulfport and Molina Healthcare will team up to serve 100 pizzas to the healthcare heroes at Garden Park Medical Center.

The giving doesn’t stop there. This Saturday, the groups will also be hosting a food truck day that will offer free catfish plates for anyone who comes along with free hamburgers for kids and free snow balls for all. Pastor Tyrone Lewis said, “It’s very important for the church to give back to the community, to let the people know we are here for them and serve as a beacon of light for the City of Gulfport. We just want to be a blessing, to give back to the community.”

The free food truck event will be held this Saturday at 208 Pass Road in Gulfport. The event begins at 11 a.m. and is first come, first serve.
