Local AT&T Encourages Fitness Apps for Natl. Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month, and AT&T wants to help you utilize technology to get fit.

A variety of apps, including Pocket Nutrition and Lose It! are available for free in the Apple app store to download onto your smart phone. Devices like the Fitbit and Nike Plus sensors are available to aid in weight loss and exercise routines. While apps and devices won’t do the work for you, the technology makes counting calories, logging miles, and regulating sleep patterns a breeze.

Brenda Francis, Regional Branch Manager for AT&T, says, “With Lose It! and Pocket Nutrition, you have it on the go with you. Whether it’s on your smart phone or whether it’s on tablet, it’s with you at all times, and when you go out to eat at a restaurant, you can download food facts about your food at that time. So we’re just mobilizing your world.”

Mississippi being one of the most obese states in the country, AT&T hopes residents will stop by to check out which apps and devices can help shape their lifestyle into a healthier one.
