Local Artists Decorate Xmas Trees at Ohr O’Keefe Museum

Local artists are a huge part of the culture on the Gulf Coast. That’s why the Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art is allowing local artists to decorate six Christmas trees in the museum with their handmade ornaments. Beginning on Black Friday, the museum will be transformed into a unique shopping experience. Museum guests are invited to enjoy the local art and can even purchase ornaments right off the trees.

Carol Messer, Assistant Director of the Ohr O’Keefe Museum, says, “This is our first event of the Trees of Ohr and every year up to now we do an artist tree, a large artist tree, and we ask the artists in the area and regional artists to come decorate it for us, and so this year, we decided to expand on it and we have eight Christmas trees this year, and we’re also doing a mug tree, which is really exciting.”

Among the ornaments, there will also be pottery, jewelry, and of course art for sale, just in time for the gift giving season.
