Loaves and Fishes seeking a forever home

Loaves and Fishes is in need of the community’s help. Their current lease ends in December and have no option but to close their doors.

They are searching for a local building to lease/purchase.  This cannot happen unless they first find a location and then build up their financial resources to lease or purchase a permanent home.

Loaves and Fishes is a nonprofit organization whose ministry has been feeding the hungry since 1983. The only way they can keep their doors open is with donations. Loaves and Fishes Executive Director Leslie Ramon said, “We run strictly off donations and the support of our community and businesses. Last year alone, we served 53,000 meals. The years that we have been in business it has been hundreds of thousands of ‘we don’t want to see the program end.’ We do a lot of good for the community and we couldn’t do it without the community. During COVID, they stepped up and helped us out with cases of water, food, and to-go meals. When we were having to serve outside. So, hopefully they can step up again and help us out with donations. Every dollar counts.”

Loaves and Fishes will host ‘Hustle for the Hungry,’ a 5K charity run on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at their current location to help raise money.
