Lifesaving CPR skills for students
To get a high school diploma in Mississippi you must be certified in CPR. Today, two groups made that requirement easier for some local students.
The American Heart Association, along with DSV Global Transport and Logistics, donated a ‘CPR in Schools Training Kit’ to seniors at Pass Christian High School. The kit included multiple inflatable human ‘dummies’ students can use to practice CPR.
The goal is to help students feel more confident in their abilities during an emergency situation.
This donation will train thousands in the community with the CPR skills they need to perform live-saving skills. Evan Duffy with the American Heart Association said, “It’s kind of a fun thing and you know it is an important skill to learn, but at the same time we want people to feel engaged. That’s what these demonstrations do; they get people engaged and bring a little energy to something that could be considered mundane.”
