Let’s ‘Taco’ about the importance of blood donations

To celebrate Taco Tuesday, the Blood Center partnered with Taco Sombrero in Ocean Springs to host a blood drive.

There is an urgent need for all blood types but especially O-type blood. Both patients and Blood Centers depend on donors to ensure that blood is available for life saving treatments.

Those that donated blood received either a free regular crispy beef taco or regular bean burrito.

Taco Sombrero Ocean Springs General Manager Brady Biglane tells News 25 why it is so important to give blood. “It’s always a good thing for people to help with the community. Obviously, they reached out to us and they requested that we do an event with them. They’re in need of donors so we are always here to help anyway we can.”

The Blood Center will host a blood drive Thursday, June 17th at Harrah’s Gulf Coast Hotel and Casino from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
