Legislator Pushes for State Flag Law

One Coast legislator wants to make sure the Mississippi State Flag is flown over the state’s colleges.
Senator Joseph Seymour of Vancleave filed a bill that would require all governmental entities that receive state funds, namely public colleges and universities, to fly the official state flag Monday through Friday.
State bill 2057 goes on to say the head of any university who doesn’t comply with the law will be docked 25% in monthly pay until it complies.
All eight of Mississippi’s public colleges and universities no longer fly the state flag on their grounds.
