Le Femmes visits senior facility

Seniors at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility got a head start on Fat Tuesday celebrations this afternoon. Dozens of residents put on their best purple, green, and gold attire and participated in the facility’s very first Mardi Gras ball.
The evening started with a southern-style dinner and continued on with the presentation of the royal court. The Krewe of Le Belle Femme made a surprise visit toward the end of the celebration.
The Brookdale Mardi Gras king and queen tell News 25 Mardi Gras is their favorite time of the year. 2017 Brookdale Mardi Gras Queen Patsy Meyer said, “Well I’m an old Mardi Gras hound because I’m originally from New Orleans. So I’ve been going to Mardi Gras for years. I love it. Regardless, it’s not just another day. It’s just a very special day in our world.”
Organizers hope to host the ball every year from here on out.
