Lawsuits Against HB 1523

That ruling was one of just four active lawsuits against House Bill 1523 in the federal court system and attorneys who have sued in an attempt to block the religious accommodations act hopes a judge will hand down the rest of the rulings today the final day before the law is set to take effect. Opponents argue it unconstitutionally establishes preferred religious beliefs, thus creating unequal treatment for gay people. State attorneys say it provides reasonable accommodations for people who believe gay marriage is wrong.
