Lawmakers Tour Roads & Bridges With MDOT

We’re months away from the 2017 legislative session, but this week Mississippi lawmakers toured the state looking at what legislators continue to say is one of the state’s biggest issues infrastructure. Of those inspecting our roads and bridges with MDOT official was house transportation chairman, Representative Charles Busby of Pascagoula. He’s been posting photo updates to Facebook adding notes that many bridges in the state are not secure enough to hold a school bus even though those buses pass atop them every year. News 25 spoke with Representative Busby this morning and he says it is time to address Mississippi’s infrastructure. While the issue is often brought up during legislative sessions lawmakers struggle to agree on how to fund fixes. It’s something that’s sure to be another hot topic of discussion come January.
