Law enforcement encouraging residents to stay off roads during the storm

Local law enforcement is gearing up for Zeta this evening and staying off the roads is the message first responders want to relay to residents on the Coast.

The Biloxi Police Department has rearranged the number of responders on duty for the storm. Equipment is already set up in certain low-lying areas so Biloxi PD can tackle any issues they may come across this evening.

Major Chris De Back tells News 25 about some more safety tips to consider before Zeta reaches South Mississippi. “Try to get everything secured. Have a plan for later just in case. We ask that everybody, once they’re in place at home or shelter or somebody else’s home, try to stay there if possible.”

If you happen to come across an emergency situation during the storm, Major De Back recommends calling 911 immediately and first responders will do the best they can to help.
