Latimer house fire kills one

A Jackson County resident is dead following a house fire Saturday night.
Sixty-two year-old Lela Miller was pronounced dead after a house on Theriot Avenue in the Latimer community went up in flames.
Firefighters entered the house, but the heat forced them out. Two firefighters were injured and one was hospitalized overnight.
Sheriff Mike Ezell said the fire did not appear suspicious, but the state marshal’s office would be conducting an investigation because a death was involved.
