Last Minute Valentine’s Day Rush
We’re just a day away from Valentine’s Day and florists around the Coast are rushing to fill those orders.
Today, News 25 stopped by The Village Florist off of Highway 49 in Gulfport and members of the staff were cutting thorns off of roses and taking last minute orders.
One worker says she’s been a part of The Village Florist crew for 30 years and sales for stuffed animals, candy, and flowers remain steady year after year, but if you’ve forgotten to get your significant other a gift and plan on making any last minute orders, make sure it’s first thing in the morning. The Village Florist employee Linda Vonderbruegge said, “We’ve been working six and seven days and working nine and ten hour days and just busy. People calling in special orders and then they’ll call and get our specials that we have and then call at the last minute and wonder if we can deliver in one hour.”
The Village Florist Owner Tanya Jones said, “Tomorrow we’ll be here from 8-5 taking orders. Deliveries, just depending on if we can fit them in with what we already have scheduled.”
Staff members say a dozen roses is The Village Florist’s best seller every Valentine’s Day.
