Large House Fire in Gulfport

A large house fire on Depew Road in Gulfport left a home completely destroyed late this afternoon.
Firefighters arrived to the large house fire and attempted to control the flames. While inside the home, they were forced to leave the building when the roof became unstable. The roof eventually caved in on the home causing major damage. At this point, the home is considered a complete loss.
Fire Chief Mike Beyerstedt tells News 25 that the two occupants inside the home were able to escape unharmed and firefighters at the scene were not injured.
An investigation to what caused the fire is underway, but officials believe the cause is accidental.
