Lamenda Hase wins OS School District’s Teacher of the Year

Ocean Springs High School’s Lamenda Hase is the 2018 winner for the District Teacher of the Year.
The history teacher has been teaching for five years at Ocean Springs High School. Hase tells her students on their first day of the semester that her class may be different from their other history classes.
That may be because she’s known to wear an American flag onesie, sometimes a patriotic hat, and bring a little fun into history class. “I just want to be that teacher that makes maybe that day that much better for that student and how ever it gets there, if it’s not in U.S. history class maybe it’s just that I was there to say great job. We are teachers because we love children and whatever it takes to get them to be a success that’s what we do.”
Hase tells News 25 she’s honored to be the Ocean Springs School District Teacher of the Year and she’s proud to make a difference.
