Kylin Hill headlines Mississippi State Pro Day

Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill originally declared for the NFL Draft all the way back in December 2019.

Since then, he decided to come back for his senior season, threatened to boycott the season over the state flag controversy before receiving the key to the City of Columbus, only to opt out mid-way through the 2020 season to prepare for the NFL Draft.

So more than 15 months after he originally declared for the draft, his Pro Day has finally come and gone. He was one of 18 former Bulldogs taking part in various drills and all-in-all strong testing results across the board.

The most impressive part of his day was a 36-inch vertical and 22 reps on bench press to go along with a 4.51 40-yard dash.

Quite the journey for the ninth leading rusher in program history, who is now looking at a third or fourth round projection, maybe should be higher. “My trainer, Brent Callaway down at EXOS, the whole time we were just training he would just tell me, tell me all the time we were fixing to wake some people up. Everybody was high on me when I was playing, but now I feel like people forgot so my job today was just to basically come here and show people that I’m still here and inform them that I’m still the same player, even better at certain things, and I feel like I did that.”

Hill says he models his game after Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot and Saints running back Alvin Kamara. The NFL Draft kicks off on April 29th.

Here’s a full list of today’s participants, starting with Hill and linebacker Erroll Thompson, long snapper Paul Blackwell, punter Reed Bowman, quarterback KJ Costello, and offensive lineman Greg Eiland, Defensive lineman Kobe Jones, wide receiver Osirus Mitchell, safety Marcus Murphy, offensive lineman Dareuan Parker, defensive lineman Marquiss Spencer, and defensive line Fletcher Adams, running back Nick Gibson, safety Jaquarius Landrews, safety Mark McLaurin, cornerback Maurice Smitherman, wide receiver Deddrick Thomas, and linebacker Tim Washington.
