Krewe of Nereids Parade

It was a big party in Waveland as the 49th annual Nereids Parade rolled through the streets.
The parade started at 1 o’clock and ended in front of the West End Restaurant. Parade goers caught beads, cheered and watched as the huge decorative floats passed them by.
Local store owners tell News 25 the parade is one of Waveland’s biggest events and it draws in a lot of business. Bay Tobacco and Beer cashier Thomas Brewer said, “It’s an experience. Nowhere else in the world do you take time, shut down the streets, party and have a good time and the law’s okay with it.”
Waveland police helped clear the roads after the parade came to an end.[mappress mapid=”2134″]
