Krewe of Neptune floats arrive on the Coast

The countdown begins to the annual Krewe of Neptune Mardi Gras Parade. We have a sneak peek of the floats that will be on display.

Sixteen Neptune floats rolled on to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, stopping at the Coast Coliseum today. The floats spent about five hours traveling at 20 miles per hour from New Orleans in preparation for the big day.

Richard Landry is the parade director and he says it is a lot of hard work, but worth it once the parade starts rolling. “It’s a year-long process. It’s meeting after meeting and we have to get everything scheduled with the police force, our volunteers, our entire organization does a lot of work in getting this done. We really enjoy it. We think we have premium floats on the Gulf Coast and we think we’re the best organization on the Gulf Coast and it’s just a culmination of a lot of fun.”

WXXV 25 on NBC will broadcast the Krewe of Neptune Parade this Saturday live at 6 p.m.
