Krewe of Gemini Parade

The veteran’s parade this morning kicked-off the carnival season for the Gulfport based Mardi Gras Krewe the Krewe of Gemini and their newly crowned king and queen.

Debra Study will serve was Queen Leda the 50th and Bob Olson will serve as King Jupiter the 50th.Their annual Day Parade will take place March 2nd and then they will wrap up the Mardi Gras season on Fat Tuesday with a night parade which is the last parade of the season on the Coast.

Debra Study says she has been in the Krewe of Gemini since 1978 and is honored to act as Queen Leda for her 41st Mardi Gras celebration. “We have a lot of history with the Krewe of Gemini. My husband was King Jupiter the 40th and my son and daughter-in-law were in his court and this year my son and daughter-in-law were also in our court. My son was a page when he was four-years-old.”
