King Cake with a Cop set for Wednesday
As Mardi Gras season continues on the Coast, residents will get the chance to visit with the Gulfport Police Department tomorrow morning at ‘King Cake with a Cop.’
The event is a twist on ‘Donut with a Cop’ which began this past summer. The police department hosts these occasions as part of an effort to build relationships in the community and with the people they serve.
Chief Leonard Papania tells News 25 these events are great for the public to come out to and visit with local law enforcement about concerns. “It’s just one of those opportunities that we have to meet with members of our community to talk and listen and quite frankly to have coffee and some king cake.”
‘King Cake with a Cop’ will take place tomorrow morning at PJ’s Coffee in downtown Gulfport from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.
