Kicking off the holiday season in Biloxi

It’s the official kick off to the holiday season for Biloxi.

The seventh annual Biloxi Lighthouse Holiday Lighting kicked off earlier tonight. Families gathered at the city’s signature landmark to meet and greet with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and see the lighthouse decked out in holiday fashion.

This is just the beginning of a series of events leading into the holiday season for the City of Biloxi. Visitor Herbert DeRochemont said, “We like doing stuff like that, to be part of the tradition.”

Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich said, “We’re really excited and it’s our symbol. It’s our signature so to speak. So, we’re real proud to light it up.”

Santa Claus said, “I can’t express it. This is my month. It’s my month. When it’s my month, I can only be happy as can be.”

Tomorrow at 6:30 you can find Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the Biloxi Town Green for more fun and Christmas lights.
