Kerry Thomas Young charged with first-degree murder

One person is dead after a shooting in Gautier last night. Officers went to the scene at 1801 West Park Drive around 7:01 p.m. Monday night after a complaint of shots fired and one person hurt.

Officers found 47-year-old Lashun Love suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Singing River Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

During the initial call, it was reported the suspect was leaving the area in a car. Officers found the suspect and say he is 29-year-old Kerry Thomas Young.

Young is charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Gautier Police Department.
