Keeping pets happy and safe on the Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is tomorrow and fireworks will be shot off.

But how does this affect furry friends?

The most important thing to remember is pets will try to run when they hear the explosions.

Keep pets inside your home and in a safe area.

Katie King of the Humane Society gives ways to make sure your furry friends have an enjoyable Fourth of July.

“You also want to put on some distractions for them. Play some soft music on the radio or turn the TV on,” King says. “Make sure they have lots of toys accessible and treats just to distract them from the loud noises.”

If you don’t have a furry friend and want one, you’re in luck!

The Humane Society is hosting a special where pet adoption fees are waived, the only cost is $8 for a tag!
