Junior ROTC Oath Ceremony at Biloxi High
Today more than 150 Junior ROTC cadets at Biloxi High School took a moral oath in front of more than 1,800 students, administrators and family.
This ceremony celebrates the new cadets becoming official members of the Cadet Corps. They heard several speeches from guest speakers before taking an oath to abide by the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all they do.
As part of the ceremony, the JROTC performed their new exhibition routine for the crowd.
Former Biloxi High School graduate Laura Coutee addressed the cadets today. She remembers being in their shoes just two years ago. “I can remember standing on the floor and trying not to mess up the words, but this program did so much for me. It’s literally why I am the person that I am today. To be able to come back here and talk to all of these students and I’m tearing up. It makes me emotional. It means a lot.”
More than 100 cadets take this oath at the ceremony held annually at Biloxi High School.
