Junior ROTC Hosts Veteran’s Breakfast

Generations full of patriotism flooded Ocean Springs High School for a veteran’s breakfast, honoring the men and women who served our country.
The Junior ROTC members hosted the event, with special performances from the upper elementary choir and high school jazz band, entertaining around 100 veterans in the cafeteria.
Emotions ran strong as youngsters and adults saluted the flag and freedom our veterans fought so hard for. JROTC Battalion Commander Michael Magyar said, “Have a little conversation about what they’ve gone through and what kind of things they’ve had to do in their time of service. Hopefully, I can show them some pride in what they’ve done, see that the younger generation actually appreciates what they’re doing for us.”
This marks the ninth year for this annual event, a breakfast salute that welcomes any and all veterans in our community, as well as family members of our next military generation, the school’s Junior ROTC members.
