Judges and “Ordinary” South Mississippians Suit Up to Be CASA Heroes

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, but anyone can suit up and help save the day by taking part in a fundraiser put on by CASA of Jackson County. Superheroes for Casa is set for Tues., Sept. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Blossman Family YMCA at 1810 Government St. in Ocean Springs, MS.

Besides becoming a champion for one of the children CASA of Jackson County helps, there will also be a recruitment rally where you can sign up to be a CASA volunteer. CASA volunteers get training to help youngsters as they walk through the difficult legal processes of abuse cases.

Everyone is invited to dress in costume as their favorite super hero and enjoy a night of great entertainment, food and fun. Jackson County Judge, the Honorable Judge Sharon Sigalas, will be among those suited up as a real life hero at the fundraiser. There will also be a silent auction. Proceeds will go to help the children served by CASA of Jackson County.

For more information, or to sign up to be a CASA volunteer, go to the CASA of Jackson County website at https://www.jccasa.net.
