Job fair for career-seekers with disabilities
There are a lot of job opportunities available for South Mississippians with disabilities.
A job fair held inside the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi today was helping those in the community with mental or physical impairments find careers. The fair was open to the public. Attendees got the chance to get help with their resumes, apply to jobs, and get information on companies seeking employees.
David Hale is a Hancock County resident who attended the fair and tells News 25 networking at this fair last year landed him a job. “Get up and get out. Just know that your disability is now what keeps you down. We keep ourselves down so let’s get up and get out into these job fairs and into the community because it’s about living a life without limits. We don’t have limits. We put limits on ourselves. So, let’s get up and get out and get hired.”
The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Governor’s Job Fair Network hosted the fair.
