Jeff Norwood next in line as West Harrison Head Boys Basketball Coach

The West Harrison Boys Basketball program has a new head coach.

As first reported yesterday by The Daily Journal, Jeff Norwood is leaving Tupelo after nine years to become the next head man of the Hurricanes.

This coming two months after Tommy Searight and West Harrison parted ways just days before a playoff game due to what was termed “a personnel issue.”

Norwood takes over a West Harrison team that went 10-9 last year with a third-place finish in Region 8 Class 6A.

Norwood previously worked as an assistant for William Carey, Southern Miss, and Mississippi State, having played for the Bulldogs in the mid-80s.

He led his alma mater, Tupelo, to the state semi’s three times.
