Jackson County Supervisors open bids to buy Singing River Health System

Multiple proposals have been submitted to the Jackson County Supervisors to buy Singing River Health System.

The board of supervisors learned details at Monday’s meeting. The hospital is currently in partnership with Ochsner Health, which is expected to be one of the companies to submit a proposal.

SRHS has three hospitals and 30 clinics and employs about 4,000.

Supervisors will review the proposals and hope to have a decision possibly by next month.

Raymond James Financial Services, which oversaw the bid process, projected a selling price of $158 million and $238 million.
