Jackson County School District announces high school graduation plans

After considering the wishes of current high school seniors, their families, and input from school leadership, the following is the revised graduation plan for the Class of 2020. Each of the three JCSD high schools will hold a traditional graduation ceremony to the extent possible while maintaining compliance with state and local social distancing directives. Dr. John Strycker, Superintendent, stated, “We want to plan graduation ceremonies that adequately recognize our students for their hard work and accomplishments.”

Plan A: See the chart below for the date, time, and location for each school’s graduation ceremony. Plan B: An alternate location for ceremonies is planned in the event that COVID-19 related social distancing regulations remain in place prohibiting graduation at the MS Coast Coliseum.

District officials will make an announcement on or before May 27th communicating which graduation plan will be selected. We at Jackson County School District are dedicated to provide a special occasion for our graduating seniors and their families that exemplifies these historic and unique circumstances. Please note that the number of guests allowed to attend the ceremonies will depend on state and local social distancing restrictions and will  be announced on or before May 27th. If you have questions concerning graduation, please contact your child’s school Monday – Friday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
