Jackson County officials take part in hurricane preparedness briefing

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Officials in Jackson County met for a hurricane preparedness meeting earlier this month.

The National Weather Service Office of New Orleans and Baton Rouge gathered emergency personnel, first responders, and public safety officials, and community partners. Those in attendance received an overview of weather patterns and expectations for the upcoming hurricane season.

Also on tap was new information about terminology and communication tools being introduced in the weather industry.

The Jackson County government wants to remind all residents this is the time to review emergency plans, refresh disaster supply kits, and stay connected with reliable sources of weather information, one of those resources being the WXXV Weather Authority App.
