Jackson County fair comes to town

Numerous rides, food, and exhibits highlight this year’s Jackson County Fair which kicked off Sunday.
It is the largest free admission fair along the entire Gulf Coast and offers eight straight days of spinning rides, stockyard exhibits, and seafood gumbo.
There will be no shortage of live entertainment, music, and dance groups this year and will be provided on both the indoor civic center stage and an outside stage at the west end of the civic center. Dawn Jones with the Jackson County Fair Association said, “It’s what we consider an old fashioned fair. We have in our arts building crafts and canned goods made by citizens in Jackson County. We have stuff made by kids from Jackson County. We have food booths that as far as we know are only found at our fair. It’s unique.”
The fair will be in town until October 22nd and will be held at its traditional location in Pascagoula at the intersection of Shortcut and Hospital roads.
