Jackson County CASA hosts ‘CASA Blues’

Putting music back in the little lives, that’s what tonight’s fourth annual ‘CASA Blues’ was all about.

‘CASA Blues’ is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Jackson County CASA. CASA, or court appointed special advocates, helps abused or neglected children find a safe permanent home. Each child is given an advocate to act as their voice.

Many of those volunteer advocates were in attendance tonight.

At tonight’s event there was live music, lots of food, and a silent auction with all of the proceeds going straight back to CASA. Jackson County CASA Board President Kenneth Rice said, “Tonight sheds light on that. It brings light to the community to let people know that we do have these children and that they are our responsibility to help. They are the next generation. They are the people that we hope come out of the system and that they are great products of our community.”

If you would like to help give the neglected children of Jackson County a voice CASA is always looking for volunteers.
