Jackson County Animal Shelter Adoption Event

The Jackson County Animal Shelter was out in Ocean Springs over the weekend looking for forever homes for a few of our animal friends.

A total of 16 dogs and cats were available for adoption as part of the ‘Make a Difference Adoption Event’ at Kwitzky’s Dugout.

The shelter is now at full capacity and is planning a series of weekend adoption events to help alleviate overcrowding.

This weekend’s event allowed people to interact with the animals in an open and public setting before making a decision on whether to adopt. Jackson County Animal Shelter Adoption Coordinator Maridee Mallette said, “Doing outside adoption events like this at Kwitzky’s is an awesome way to get animals out here in the public so they get to know them. You can play with the puppies and walk them around so you really know their personalities.”

WXXV has teamed up with the shelter for the ‘Clear the Shelters’ adoption event in Gautier this Saturday.
