Jackson Co. Still Investigating Fatal Shooting in Wade

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Wade, Mississippi. Authorities were called to a trailer on Lee Pierce Road a few miles north of Moss Point on Highway 63.

Police say they found Thomas Daniel Hicks dead from a single gunshot wound in the torso. Interim Sheriff Charles Britt says the department believes the shooting involved a domestic disturbance.

Britt says, “Officers are investigating now. We’re working on some search warrants, we’re doing some different things now, just trying to tie up some loose ends. We know it was domestic related, that’s about all we can talk about right now. We do have all the players, all the players are known, and we’re working now to determine exactly what happened there.”

Interim Sheriff Britt says after another two or three days of investigations, they should be able to inform the public as to exactly how and why Hicks was shot in this small quiet town.
