Jackson Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Holds Toy Drive for Needy Kids

This month, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a new toy drive called Santa Wears a Badge.

Families in Jackson County can register their newborns through 12 year olds to receive presents on Christmas. Businesses can call to have a donation box placed at their office to collect toys. Newly elected Sheriff, Mike Ezell, says he wants to start the year off right by giving back to those in need.

Ezell says, “We’re just trying to help some of the kids in our county, community to give them a little Christmas present. So we have several locations throughout the county. You can come by the Sheriff’s Office and drop something off. We’d like it to be something new in a box, and we’re taking applications. You can get one here at the Sheriff’s Department.”

Boxes will be picked up December 17th. For more information, call Connie Bosarge at (228) 769-3153 or Cherie Ward at (228) 769-3118.
