Jabos Crown Club Holiday Party
With Christmas only four days away, holiday celebrations are in full swing. News 25 was on hand as a group of high school students threw a holiday bash at the Gulf Coast Coliseum.
A little piece of Christmas came early in Biloxi for dozens of kids from the Boys and Girls Club and the Kroc Center all thanks to the Jabos Crown Club. Crown Club Member Sarah Margaret Knight said, “We hope to impart some Christmas cheer for all these kids. I am really excited for everything that we have because they may not get the opportunity to do anything like this otherwise.”
The Crown Club is a group of high school students from here on the Coast that felt this special celebration was the best way to ring in the holidays. Crown Club President Dottie Grace Brown said, “We help under privileged kids to give them fun events like ice skating and meeting Santa and it’s just a fun way for the girls to get involved and help other people. We are having crafts and games and reading just so they can have fun Christmas spirit.”
Kids spent the day doing Christmas themed crafts and reading books about Santa. “The food and the crafts, yeah the crafts look really fun. We are going to make a snowman candle. I am going to go to all of them. We are going to do all of them.”
If they were feeling brave, they had a chance to lace up their skates and hit the ice. “I don’t really want to go ice skating because I am scared.” “I went one time and I fell on my butt a lot.”
