Iran Nuclear Deal Negotiations Still Going

Negotiations continue on whether world powers will curb Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for relief from international sanctions.
Negotiators from the U.S., China, France, Russia, Great Britain, and Germany are meeting with Iranian officials. A new law requires President Obama to pass any deal made by Congress before signing off on it. Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker tells News 25 he feels it’s important to ensure any deal made with Iran will not hurt American’s in the future: “We absolutely need to make sure we have not negotiated an easy path for Iran to get a nuclear bomb. I think that’s their goal still. They’ve negotiated with administration, but I’m not at all convinced that they’re sincere.”
Negotiators hope an agreement can be reached by June. Senator Wicker and other members of Congress want to employ international checks to ensure Iran keeps their end of the deal.
